Ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations in Bengaluru, the anti-narcotics squad of the city police’s crime branch has busted the biggest drug racket in Karnataka. A nondescript shop in Bengaluru’s TC Palya locality selling food items usually consumed by foreign nationals had a stock of prohibited drugs worth Rs 24 crore. 12 kg of yellow and white MDMA crystals were seized by the police.

Based on a specific tip, the police raided the shop being run by 40-year-old Nigerian national Roselime. She was arrested, and apart from the drugs, the police also recovered 70 Airtel SIM cards from the accused.
“This is an excellent operation. This is the highest recovery in the state so far. The operation was carried out on December 13 in KR Puram Police station limits. During the interrogation, the accused confessed that she was selling these drugs to foreign nationals, IT and corporate employees, and college students. The crystals have come from Mumbai," said Bengaluru police commissioner B Dayanand.

The arrested accused has told the police that an African-origin woman based in Mumbai was smuggling the banned drug MDMA crystal at cheap prices to foreign nationals, familiar customers, college students, and software employees to live a fun life and earn more money in less time. She has confessed that she is involved in making illegal money by selling to employees at high prices.

The foreign woman who had brought the banned drug MDMA crystal from Mumbai escaped during the raid, and the police launched a search operation.
