UIDAI has again extended the deadline for free Aadhaar update on its online platform myAadhaar. People can make changes to their Aadhaar card till June 14, 2025.
Initially, the deadline for free Aadhaar card update was December 14. The government has extended the date for updating details so that people get more time to add information.
During this time people can update their details without paying a single penny. This service is free.
What can you update under the free service
Under this service, the Aadhaar card holder can update demographic information, which includes the name, date of birth, address and contact number of the Aadhaar card holder.
To change things like fingerprint, iris scan or photo, one has to visit the Aadhaar center. To do this, the Aadhaar card holder has to pay a certain amount.
How can you update details?
Visit the official site 'myAadhaar'.
Next, the Aadhaar cardholder needs to log in by entering the Aadhaar card number and the OTP.
The OTP will be received on the number linked to the Aadhaar card.
The cardholder will need to verify the details and make the corrections he wants to make.
The Aadhaar cardholder will need to submit documents as proof of the details he is updating.
The person will then have to send the update request and note down the 14-digit number for tracking purposes of the application.
After it is approved, the final step involves downloading the Aadhaar card from the site
