Latehar: Latehar police has succeeded in arresting Chandradev Singh, the main accused in the murder of CPI Maoist regional commander Chhotu Kharwar on 27 November 2024. Chandradev Singh is a resident of Kui village of Manika police station area. Police have recovered two AK-47s, four magazines, 91 rounds of cartridges and a large number of other items from it.

On the basis of secret information received by Latehar SP Kumar Gaurav, a raid was started in search of Naxalite in Dund-Karmahi area of Manika police station area. Police laid siege and arrested Maoist Chandradev Singh. During the search operation conducted at the spot, the police recovered two AK-47 rifles, 91 live bullets along with three diaries and other items.

SP Kumar Gaurav said that the arrested Naxalite Chandradev Singh is an accused in the murder of Maoist commander Chhotu Kharwar. SP said that when the arrested militant was interrogated, he confessed that he was involved in the murder of Chhotu Kharwar. SP said that more than 6 cases of militant violence were registered against the arrested Naxalite Chandradev Singh in different police station areas.
