The controversy regarding Manhar Kheda, the fort of MLA Ashraf Ali from Thana Bhavan in Shamli district, is continuously deepening. A large number of people of Manhar Kheda Sangharsh Samiti reached Shamli Collectorate on Wednesday and demonstrated fiercely, demanding that the Archeology Department conduct excavations inside the fort located in Jalalabad town. In the protest, he demanded through a memorandum that the ashes of 1,444 of his ancestors (men and women) were buried inside the fort.

Also, the well in which Jal Jauhar was performed by his family queens and daughters should also be excavated by the Archeology Department and all the bones should be handed over to him, so that he can immerse them in the Ganga and give peace to the souls of his ancestors. The agitators’ demand was that if this work was not done within two months, then the entire Hindu community would hold a big Hindu Mahapanchayat inside the fort, whereas now their children had also announced that they would not take a bath in the Ganga until the ashes were there.

Bhanu Pratap Singh, a 16th generation descendant of Gopal Singh, the last king of Manhar Kheda Fort, claimed that in 1690, Jalal Khan had poisoned 1,444 of his ancestors to death in the name of feast and buried their ashes inside the fort. .

He demanded that the fort is currently occupied by MLA Asraf Ali, who is part of the coalition government in Uttar Pradesh.

MLA is being helped under political pressure!

Somewhere the MLA is being helped under political pressure. The agitators warned that if their demands were not met within two months, they would organize a huge Hindu Mahapanchayat inside the fort and the further strategy would be decided there. Now the children and youth who came to protest have warned that if this action is not taken quickly and the ashes of the people of our society are not taken out, then our society will not take bath in the Ganga and till then our movement will continue.

SDM Shamli Hamid Hussain gave information

In this matter, SDM Shamli Hamid Hussain said that members of Manhar Kheda Committee had come today. They are demanding that the fort of Jalalabad be given under the protection of the Archeology Department. The Archeology Department had asked us for some records, which we have sent. These people demand that excavation should be done inside the fort. We will send the memorandum to the competent authority and whatever the order is, action will be taken accordingly. Only the Archeology Department will see whether there will be excavation inside the fort or not. Further action will be taken as per the instructions.
