New Delhi, January 07 (ANI): US President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden on January 6 visited the scene of the New Year's Day attack in New Orleans that left 14 people dead and dozens of others injured when an American Army veteran, rammed a truck into a crowd of revellers. Before making their way to a church for a memorial service, Biden and his wife, Jill, made a stop at Bourbon Street to pay respects to those who died in the attack. The first lady laid a bouquet in front of the makeshift memorial. In the horrific new year nightmare, US Army veteran Shamsud-Din Jabbar rammed a truck into a crowd of revellers on January 01 killing 14 people. Jabbar, the Texas man who drove the truck was killed in a subsequent shootout with police when he started firing on security personnel. According to his half-brother, the 42-year-old army veteran was struggling to get past a recent divorce and had showed no signs of anger in the weeks before the attack. The FBI said that Jabbar, who had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State extremist group, acted on his own.
