Tel Aviv (Israel) January 20 (ANI): In a breakthrough, the first set of three Israeli hostages was handed over to Israel on January 19, 2025. The implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire-hostage deal in Gaza between Hamas and Israel, came into effect on Jan 19. The three hostages --Romi Gnen, Emily Damari, and Doron Steinbrecher reunited with their families after 471 days. They embraced and wept as the three female hostages were seen getting into a Red Cross vehicle surrounded by armed Hamas fighters. The family members can be seen jumping with joy as they reunited with the hostage member when arrived home. According to the latest update by IDF, the 3 hostages have arrived at the initial reception point in southern Israel. Taking to the ‘X’, Israeli Defence Forces confirmed the release of three hostages and that they have returned to Israeli territory. The cease agreement between Israel and Hamas that came into effect on Jan 19 morning calls for fighting to stop. Notably, the total number of Palestinians released will depend on hostages released and could be between 990 and 1,650 Palestinians.
