WhatsApp Vs CCI: NCLAT Orders Meta To Pay 50% Of ₹213 Crore Penalty; Stays Directive Of Sharing User Data For Ads

The NCLAT upholds the CCI order requesting that WhatsApp refrain from sharing data gathered on its platforms with the Meta company or its products for a period of five years. 50 per cent of the penalty, of Rs 213.14 crore, must be deposited before the penalty is stayed. The NCLAT declines to stay other parts of the CCI order.
