On Basant Panchami, also known as Saraswati Pooja, many toddlers in Nepal began their educational journey by writing their first words with chalk at Saraswati temples. Celebrated on the Shukla Panchami of the Nepali month, the festival marks the arrival of spring and is significant for students as it’s believed that worshipping Goddess Saraswati brings success in studies. The occasion saw students visiting the Swayambhunath temple to honor the goddess. Nepali President Ram Chandra Paudel extended his wishes, emphasizing the festival’s role in inspiring innovation, preserving Nepal’s cultural heritage, and promoting unity among its diverse communities.
