These companies are already charging for mobile recharge through UPI. Now this process of recovery is not going to be limited to mobile recharge only.

In today's time, UPI has become an important part of our life. On average, a person is doing about 60 to 80 percent of transactions through UPI every day. Crores of UPI transactions are happening daily in India, through which transactions worth crores of rupees are taking place. Although many companies across the country provide online payment facilities through UPI, Paytm, Google Pay, and PhonePe are used the most. All these companies do not charge any kind of fee for most UPI transactions. But now perhaps these free services may stop soon. Now you may have to pay fees for different services.

Let us tell you that these companies are already charging for mobile recharge through UPI. Now this process of recovery is not going to be limited to mobile recharge only. Google Pay has started it. According to a report by the Economic Times, Google Pay has recovered Rs 15 from the customer in the name of a convenience fee for depositing the electricity bill. According to the report, the user had paid the electricity bill with the help of a credit card through Google Pay.

UPI is being used extensively across the country

Google Pay had described this recovery as a "processing fee for debit and credit card transactions" and GST was also included in it. UPI is being used not only for shopping at shops but also for many other services. This includes petrol-diesel, mobile recharge, DTH recharge, various types of bill payments, railway-flight tickets, movie tickets, Fastag, gas booking, money transfer, metro card recharge, insurance premium, etc.
