📢 Big news for EPF account holders! The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has once again extended the deadline for activating Universal Account Number (UAN) and linking Aadhaar with a bank account. The new last date is now March 15, 2025.
New Deadline for UAN-Aadhaar LinkingThe Ministry of Labour and Employment issued an official circular on February 21, 2025, stating:
📌 “The competent authority has extended the time limit for UAN activation and Aadhaar linking with a bank account up to March 15, 2025.”
Previously, the deadline was February 15, 2025, but it has been extended multiple times for the convenience of employees.
What is UAN? Why is it Important?🔹 UAN (Universal Account Number) is a 12-digit unique identification number assigned to every salaried employee by EPFO.
🔹 It acts as a single access point for employees to manage multiple PF accounts across different employers.
🔹 Employees can track and withdraw their Provident Fund (PF) balance easily through their UAN.
🔸 Employees must activate their UAN and link it with Aadhaar & bank accounts to avail benefits under the Employment-Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme.
🔸 EPFO’s advisory: “Linking Aadhaar with your bank account is mandatory to avail the benefits of the ELI Scheme. Do it on time to avoid last-minute hassles!”
The Employment-Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme was launched by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in July 2024 to boost employment and support industries. It has three versions:
✔️ Scheme A – Encourages first-time employment & new EPF enrollments.
✔️ Scheme B – Focuses on employment generation in the manufacturing sector.
✔️ Scheme C – Provides financial support to employers.
