The divorce between cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his estranged wife Dhanashree Verma was finalised before the Bandra family court on Thursday.
This was following directions by the Bombay High Court on Wednesday to the family court to decide the divorce plea by Thursday, before the upcoming Indian Premier League begins on March 22, in which Chahal will be participating. The high court on Wednesday set aside the family court’s order, which refused to waive the statutory six-month cooling off period for them.
“The divorce was finalised before the family court. The court allowed the mutual consent plea by both parties for a divorce and the marriage has been dissolved,” said Chahal’s lawyer, Nitin Gupta. He said that the settlement between them was complied with.
