Bahadurgarh: An explosion in the city had recently claimed the lives of a woman and her three children, and has turned out to be a planned murder. The police on Sunday informed they solved the case and arrested the accused, the deceased woman's husband. He was also injured in the blast, a report said.
Accused Haripal Singh, who works as a transporter from Rudrapur in Uttarakhand was arrested after the probe revealed that the deaths were not accidental but a planned conspiracy. Mayank Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bahadurgarh, said that fire tenders doused the flames at their house and recovered four bodies.
These bodies were identified to be of the accused's 38-year-old wife, 11-year-old daughter, and his two sons aged 17 and 9.
According to PTI, initially, it was suspected that the blast occurred due to an explosion in the air conditioner compressor. However, later it was found that Haripal first gave his wife and three children sleeping pills. Once they became unconscious, he strangled them with a rope. And then he attacked them with a sharp weapon and later poured fuel on them.
He later poured fuel on them and set the bodies of four people on fire, the police said, quoted PTI. As per an official, the accused also tried to kill himself but backed out. He already had written a suicide note which the cops also recovered from the house.
What Accused Said in Suicide Note
During the search, the cops found a bottle containing petrol and a suicide note. They said it was the fire that led to the explosion in the air conditioner's internal unit. In the suicide note, Haripal alleged that his sister and brother-in-law had fraudulently got his house registered in their name. This is why he planned to the mass suicide with the family."I tried to save my children from them. That is why I rented a house in Bahadurgarh in Sector 9 by giving the wrong identity. Now I am tired of running around. That is why I am embracing death along with my family," police said citing his suicide note.
Now a case has been registered against Singh and he was arrested on Sunday. He was found injured at the scene and was referred to Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak.
