This victory caught the attention of renowned filmmaker Yash Chopra, who offered her a role in his film Trishul (1978). Her career gained further momentum as she starred in a series of successful films throughout the 1980s and 90s, including Sohni Mahiwal (1984), Teri Meherbaniyan (1985), and Karma (1986).
