Poonam Dhillon’s journey into the spotlight began in 1978 when she won the title of Miss Young India. This victory caught the attention of renowned filmmaker Yash Chopra, who offered her a role in his film Trishul (1978). Her career gained further momentum as she starred in a series of successful films throughout the 1980s and 90s, including Sohni Mahiwal (1984), Teri Meherbaniyan (1985), and Karma (1986). However, it was her debut film, Noorie, opposite Farooq Sheikh, that made her a household name and solidified her place in the hearts of audiences.
