Obnews Tech Desk: Meta -owned instant messaging app Whatsapp has recently taken a big step and banned more than 1 crore Indian accounts. The action was taken in January 2025, which was revealed in the Compliance Report of WhatsApp.
Why these strict steps were taken?
Whatsapp has taken this step to protect against spam and scam, so that problems like fraud and cheating can be controlled. According to the company, accounts have been banned to prevent misuse and ensure users' safety.
Third-party Whatsapp may be used heavy
If you are using third-party apps like GB Whatsapp, FM Whatsapp, Yo Whatsapp, then your account can be banned. Meta says that these unofficial apps threaten the privacy of users, so action is being taken against those using them.
How to do Banned WhatsApp account?
If your WhatsApp account is banned by mistake or for some reason, you can send it a request to rebuild it.

- Send e-mail: Mail your registered email ID to Support@whatsapp.com.
- Write in the subject: “My WhatsApp Account is Banned”
