A huge fire that broke out in the early hours of Thursday in Gwalior completely destroyed a three-storey structure and wounded two firefighters. Five LPG cylinders stored in the facility exploded, exacerbating the fire.

The Kalan Gopal multi-storey structure in Khasgi Bazar, Gwalior, which is within the jurisdiction of the Janakganj Police Station, was the scene of the fire on Thursday between 2:30 and 3:00 am.
The fire started at a thread-making facility located in the three-storey building’s basement, according to the police.
The fire swiftly expanded and reached five apartments on the second and third levels, fuelled by the very combustible ingredients used to make the thread.
The occupants of the impacted apartments promptly fled the building after seeing the fire and called the police and fire department for help.
“The fire has been contained, and no one has been killed in the event. The block is home to up to seven households, Deputy Superintendent of Police Manish Yadav said, IANS.
He said that while trying to put out the fire, which was exacerbated by the explosion of five cooking gas cylinders kept in the facility, two firemen, Purushottam and Lokendra, suffered burn injuries.
Investigations are being conducted to ascertain if the factory’s activities and material storage are lawful, and both wounded employees have been admitted to the hospital.
Authorities are also investigating if a short circuit or other causes caused the tragedy.
Five gas cylinders burst one after the other as the fire department battled the fire. The enormous fire was put out with the help of reinforcements, including the Air Force fire department.
By mid-morning, the fire had been completely contained.
When smoke started to permeate their apartments and flames burst from the factory below, residents said they saw the fire. The situation was chaotic as they hurried downstairs to safety.
Emergency personnel had to work together to control the fire since it had spread to the higher stories by the time they arrived.
In an attempt to put out the fire, firefighters risked the explosions to enter the facility and squirt water.
Authorities are still investigating the event and determining what caused the fire.
