Sushmita Sen Supports Artistic Freedom Amid Return of Pakistani Actors to Bollywood:

Sushmita Sen who is an actress and a former Miss Universe has shared her views on the Pakistani actors returning to the Indian film industry which stemmed following the Fawad Khan starrer Abir Gulaal which also stars Vaani Kapoor.

The teaser of Abir Gulaal has sparked the old debate of Pakistani artists in Indian cinema not only on the political front but on the entertainment front as well. The movie is set to be released on May 9 2025 and has been directed by Aarti S. Bagdi.

Sushmita Sen As An Advocate of Arts Without Boundaries

In the interview with Abhishek Kumar from Instant Bollywood, Sushmita Sen was asked for her opinion regarding Fawad Khan’s return and being he is not the only Pakistani artist to join Indian Cinema. Sushmita emphasized on believing and in art without borders which is very important especially in today’s world.

“Neither of them are extremes,” she stated. “As far as I’m concerned, there are no boundries for creativity. In the same way galia plays a role in demolishing borders, sports are a form of free expression.”

Cultural Issues and Public Opinion

Reactions to the film have dulled to a standstill. While some of Khan’s freethinking supporters are bailiffed over the prospect of his renewed bollywoods stardom, others worry over the political implications of artistic cooperation and the experience of the two countries if relationships grow warmer.

The dual-national Fawad Khan had not appeared in Indian films for a long time, and when he resurfaced, he seemed to take on a new purpose of stimulating Indo-Pak artistic cooperation policies. This goal is likely to be achieved with the casting of Vaani Kapoor.
