Bengaluru An investigation of the accused’s police encounter in the Hubballi case of a young girl who was sexually assaulted and murdered has been ordered by the Karnataka government.

Additionally, the government has said that it would investigate migrant workers’ participation in crimes that take place across the state.

Home Minister G. Parameshwara told reporters on Monday, “A horrifying tragedy happened in Hubballi city. A guy from Bihar abducted and killed a five-year-old child.

“He was captured soon after that. The accused unexpectedly assaulted the police when they brought him to his home, and the police retaliated in self-defence. He was brought to the hospital right away, where he passed away from his wounds, according to HM Parameshwara.

“I’ve instructed top officials to look into the situation. After the investigation, the facts will become clear,” he said.

HM Parameshwara said, “Migrant labourers come to Karnataka in large numbers from all parts of the country,” in response to a query about their participation in crimes inside the state. Both the city and the state of Bengaluru are growing quickly. We must surely take notice of the fact that we have seen them engage in a number of illegal actions.”

“They seem to have a lack of understanding of the local culture and people, which leads them to engage in such behaviours. The involvement of outsiders is clear in many situations. I’ll talk to the relevant authorities and the Labour Department to see what can be done,” he added.

“We can take certain steps, but we can’t stop them from getting here. “I’ll talk to the Labour Minister about this,” said HM Parameshwara.

“A combined meeting will be called. Construction workers are becoming engaged in criminal activity in several locations. In answer to a query, he continued, “We will meet and make a decision.”

The culprit in the abduction, alleged sexual assault, and murder of a little girl reported from Hubballi city on Sunday was shot dead by the Karnataka Police.

The defendant has been identified as Ritesh Kumar, a 35-year-old Patna, Bihar resident.

But according to the authorities, the accused’s identification has not yet been determined.

“The accused was shot because he was facing charges of raping a five-year-old girl and the accused could not be allowed to escape,” said N. Shashikumar, the Police Commissioner for Hubballi and Dharwad. The cops had to defend themselves at the same time.

“The accused was struck by one gunshot, and the cops used very little force. He was taken to the hospital right away by the police, but he passed away from his wounds.

“The culprit was arrested after we received a lead from local sources and CCTV video. The accused was questioned for three hours over the course of the inquiry. “He admitted to the crime, but he gave false information about who he was,” Shashikumar said.

The defendant identified himself as Ritesh Kumar, a 35-year-old Patna, Bihar native, and said that he had been gone from his home for four years. Three months before, he had visited Hubballi,” he said.

“The police took him to an abandoned home where he claimed to live so they could investigate it. The accused then launched an unexpected assault on the police officers. He began to flee after attempting to throw stones at the police car and the officers, he said.

Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Annapurna urged the accused to halt at that point by firing a warning shot into the air. The female police officer shot the accused when he persisted in throwing stones, Shashikumar stated.

“The accused was struck by two bullets: one in the leg and one in the back. He was taken to the hospital after collapsing in an attempt to save his life, but he passed away from his wounds,” he stated.

“PSI Annapurna, our staff Yashwant, and Veeresh are injured,” he said.

On Sunday, the startling occurrence was made public.

The police claim that the accused tried to attack the child after bringing her to a shed. Locals raced to the scene as the girl begged for assistance.

The accused reportedly strangled the girl and fled after seeing that others were coming.

According to what N. Shashikumar previously said, the girl’s parents were from Koppal. Her mother is working as a housekeeper, while her father is a painter.

He said that the victim had been brought to work by the mother. The accused reportedly pulled the girl away while she was working.

The corpse of the girl was later found in a shed.

According to an official, it is still unclear if the girl was sexually assaulted, but a medical check will confirm the details.

Condemning the event and calling for stern punishment against the perpetrators, the girl’s parents protested in front of the Ashokanagar police station.

Santhosh Lad, the minister of labour, talked with the girl’s parents during his Monday visit to the Hubballi hospital.

“Civilised society had to lower its head in response to this occurrence. It is an act of inhumanity. The victim is a little infant. The sight of her body was unbearable to me. “Whether she was sexually assaulted will be confirmed by the post mortem report,” he said.
