TV legends Alan Carr and Amanda Holden were back together on BBC One on Monday evening for a very special reason - which left one of them in tears. The friends and co-stars traveled to Spain together to see how the country celebrates Christmas, but it proved to be too much for Amanda, who quickly became emotional.

In the one-off Christmas special, Amanda and Alan headed to Malaga to mark the start of the festive season at the big light switch-on. The beautiful city was lit up with hundreds of thousands of twinkling Christmas lights. Amanda's breath was taken away as she said: "Wow, it's like Liberace has decorated this street. There is no part of me that thinks this is over the top." Above their heads were gorgeous golden angels, and as some Christmas music began to play, the pair appeared to be in awe. Suddenly the lights switched on and the presenters jumped up and down in glee - but the emotion soon became too much for Amanda as tears leaked from her eyes.

"I'm going to cry," she exclaimed before adding: "I feel like I'm at Disney." Alan added: "It's amazing, just look how lovely it is."

But as he turned back to look at his friend, Amanda was wiping away tears. He quickly embraced her in a friendly hug as he said: "Aw, you just love Christmas, don't you?"

She continued to cry and wipe her face, declaring: "Oh, it's so silly," as Alan cackled at her. "Oh, bless you," he said.

Amanda explained the special moment, saying: "I feel like we are in our own Christmas movie." Alan joked: "I should get off with you now, but it's not going to happen!"

Elsewhere in the episode, Alan and Amanda continued their work on renovating a run-down townhouse, while also savouring the festive traditions of the region.

They prepped their property for a massive Christmas party, celebrating the ways of Spain as they enjoyed the local culture and celebrated with residents.

However, the duo quickly discovered that they have very different ideas when it comes to Christmas decorations.

Amanda wasn't happy with Alan's "tacky" decorations that he just "bunged" onto the tree - including a hot dog decoration.

But his friend was having none of it as she declared that she would need to "get a little bit bossy" to make things more to her taste.
