A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the newly appointed chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, former IPS officer Dr. Prashant, regarding the examinations to be held in Uttar Pradesh. In this meeting, the decision was taken to postpone the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET), which was scheduled for January 29 and 30, 2026.  The meeting also discussed transparently conducting examinations in the state.

New Exam Calendar to be Released Soon
The meeting regarding the examinations revealed that a new exam calendar will be prepared, taking into account other examinations in the state, including TGT, PGT, and TET. The new exam calendar will announce the dates for UP TET and other examinations.

15 Lakh Young People Had Applied
It is worth noting that the UP TET exam was being conducted after a gap of four years. This time, more than 15 lakh applications were received for the exam. Now, all these candidates will have to wait again for the exam.

Prashant Kumar has Recently Appointed as Chairman of the Commission
Former DGP of Uttar Pradesh Police, Prashant Kumar, was recently appointed as the new chairman of the Education Service Selection Commission by the UP government. Since Prashant Kumar's appointment, it seemed unlikely that the exams would be held on the previously scheduled dates. Therefore, in his first meeting, he emphasized conducting the examinations transparently and announced that a new exam calendar would be released, taking into account the old exam dates, institutions, and calendar.
