Government approved 2 new airlines

When the system of IndiGo, the country's largest airline, faltered, thousands of passengers had to wait for hours at airports and many could not reach their destinations. This crisis has brought before us the bitter truth that the Indian aviation sector is dominated by a few players. But now there is a relief news. The central government has taken a big step towards breaking this monopoly and providing better options to the passengers. The government has issued No Objection Certificate (NOC) to two new airlines, 'Al Hind Air' and 'Fly Express'. This simply means that in the coming time, you will not have to depend on just one or two companies for booking air tickets.

Now the will of only two companies will not prevail

Indian skies are currently ruled by two big groups, IndiGo and Tata Group (Air India). If we look at the statistics, about 90 percent of the passengers flying within the country use the services of these two groups. In such a situation, when there is a problem in one airline, the entire system gets shaken and the common man has to bear the brunt of it.

To reduce this risk, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has geared up. He said that the government is encouraging new airlines so that healthy competition increases in the market. In the last one week, the ministry has met teams of three new companies. This step of the Minister is a clear indication that the government now wants to create new options in the market so that the public can get relief from arbitrary fares and delays.

Who are these new players who are going to take to the skies?

The background of the two companies which have got the green signal is quite interesting. 'Al Hind Air' is part of Kerala-based AlHind Group, which is already a big name in the travel and tourism sector. Whereas, 'Fly Express' is a Hyderabad-based company, which has experience in courier and cargo services.

Apart from this, 'Shank Air' has already received NOC. Shankha Air plans to connect major cities of Uttar Pradesh like Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra and Gorakhpur. This means that in the coming time, connectivity is going to be better for the passengers of small cities (Tier-2 and Tier-3). Small companies like Star Air and Fly91 are already making their place under the government's 'Udaan' scheme, and now these new players will add more life to it.
