The entire northern India is suffering from increasing cold and fog these days. The Meteorological Department has issued a cold day warning for Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Bengal, Sikkim, and Uttarakhand.

North India is currently reeling under severe cold and dense fog. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is no hope of relief from the cold until December 29th. Fog is expected in Bihar until December 31st, while in Punjab and Haryana until December 30th. The Meteorological Department has issued a cold day warning for eastern Uttar Pradesh and a severe cold day warning for Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Uttarakhand.
Delhi Weather:
After two days of sunshine, the capital Delhi, has become colder due to clear skies. Cold westerly winds from the mountains are further increasing the cold. The minimum temperature in Delhi-NCR has dropped to 6.5 degrees Celsius. The mercury is expected to drop further today (Friday, December 26). However, people have breathed a sigh of relief as the AQI has dropped. The AQI is still 230, which falls in the poor category.
Fog alert in UP:
Uttar Pradesh is experiencing bone-chilling cold these days. The weather becomes even colder at night. However, on Thursday, people got some relief when some places saw sunshine during the day. The minimum temperature has dropped once again. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert today regarding dense fog in Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Mirzapur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Jaunpur, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, and Sitapur.
The weather in Uttar Pradesh is expected to remain dry on December 27-28. A warning has been issued for dense to very dense fog in many areas of both regions during this period. However, the weather in the state is expected to remain completely clear on December 29, 30, and 31. However, dense fog will persist during this period. Temperatures continue to fluctuate, with the minimum temperature dropping again. Meerut experienced its coldest night on Thursday, recording a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees Celsius.
Bihar Weather:
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding the cold wave and dense fog in Bihar. A warning has been issued that there will be no relief from the fog until the end of this year. According to the Meteorological Department, continuous snowfall in the hilly areas and an active western disturbance are directly affecting Bihar. Icy westerly winds have increased the cold. In the last 24 hours, Bihar's average minimum temperature was recorded at 9.4 degrees Celsius.
