The Ashes came back after a long break with expectations of excitement and big moments bringing new life to Test crickets most famous rivalry. Four Tests have already been completed and none of them went the full five days. The recent Test at the MCG ended in only two days similar to the opening match in Perth. With matches finishing so quickly Cricket Australia is now dealing with major financial losses. Whenever England play Australia the contest is always exciting and Test matches between them usually bring long tense battles. When the Ashes returned last month fans expected five full days of traditional red-ball cricket but this season has been very different. The first three Tests ended before the fifth day and supporters hoped the Melbourne Test would last longer. Instead that match also finished in just two days leaving fans disappointed. The early finish has not only upset supporters but has also caused problems for Cricket Australia. How much loss will Cricket Australia face? Large crowds attended the first two days at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and tickets for the third day were already sold out. However since the match ended early Cricket Australia is expected to lose around £5 million (about Rs 60.6 crore) which is a major financial setback. England End Long Winless Run in Australia England finally ended their long wait for a victory in Australia with Melbourne becoming the place where it happened. Coming into the fourth Test after losing the first three matches Ben Stokes’ team turned things around. After choosing to bowl first England bowled Australia out for just 152 runs with Josh Tongue leading the attack. England struggled in their first innings with the bat but responded strongly in the second. The MCG surface helped the fast bowlers again as England kept Australia to a low score and set themselves a target of 175 runs to win. Openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett gave England a steady start in the chase. Young batter Jacob Bethell then played an important part building key partnerships with Crawley and Joe Root. England went on to win by four wickets registering their first victory of the current Ashes series.
