If you are planning to go to the bank today on Saturday to complete any important work, then there is good news for you. Today is April 18, 2026 and it is the third Saturday of the month. According to the rules of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks remain closed only on the second and fourth Saturdays. Since today is the third Saturday, all bank branches across the country will remain open as usual. However, due to the festivals coming tomorrow and Sunday, the functioning of the banks may be affected for the next few days. Schedule of the next 4 days: Where and when will there be holidays? Banks are going to remain closed in the coming days due to regional festivals in many states. Take a look at the upcoming holidays: 19 April (Tomorrow): Banks will remain closed across the country as it is Sunday. 20 April (Monday): Bank holiday in Karnataka and some other states on the occasion of Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya. 21 April (Tuesday): Banks will remain closed only in Tripura due to Gariya Puja. Work will run smoothly in the remaining states. Long holidays are also falling in the last week of the remaining holiday month of April 2026. Do your banking planning keeping these dates in mind: 25th April: Fourth Saturday (bank closed across the country). 26th April: Sunday (holiday across the country). Don’t worry if banks are closed, these services will remain operational. Even if there is a bank holiday in your state, you do not need to panic. In the digital age, despite bank branches being closed, you can avail the following services 24×7: UPI Transactions: Transactions through Phone Pay, Google Pay and other apps will continue. Net Banking/Mobile Banking: Use it for fund transfer and bill payments. ATM Service: ATMs will work as usual for withdrawing cash. Cash Deposit Machines: You can use the machines to deposit money. Note: Only check clearance, draft making and KYC. Like you need to go to the bank branch only for physical purposes.
