Germany have officially revealed their 2026 World Cup away kit, signalling the end of a legendary partnership era.

With the tournament set to be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, a wave of new World Cup kits is being launched. While the Nationalelf’s home shirt stays true to a more traditional look, the away version offers something completely different from what fans typically associate with both Germany and Adidas.

The last-ever Germany x Adidas away shirt comes in a striking blue – a design approach few would have predicted. The designers have gone all-out for this farewell edition.

The jersey features a navy blue base, complemented by white logos and mint detailing, creating a maritime-inspired combination. The concept behind this palette feels fresh and well thought out.

Following the playful pink-and-purple outfit from Euro 2024, this time Germany and Adidas have opted for a more polished and classic aesthetic, yet with enough distinct touches to appeal to fans across the country.

The shirt is decorated with small blue-green diamond patterns arranged in threes – a nod that Bayern supporters will likely appreciate – while the three stripes, collar, and cuffs lean more towards a retro style than a high-performance sportswear look.

That in itself works in the shirt’s favour: much like the Adi Originals range, this feels like something straight out of the 1970s or 1980s.

A vintage-style Adidas tag sits on the lower right side – a detail exclusive to Germany, while other teams have different versions. The Trefoil logo and eagle crest both appear in a crisp, enamel-like white finish.

Despite its nostalgic appeal, though, there’s a sense that something is slightly missing.

It undoubtedly looks like a Germany shirt, yet Adidas seem to have poured all their creativity into the colour scheme, leaving the overall design somewhat minimalistic. Some fans might find it lacking a standout feature or a unique visual statement.

Traditionally, blue has been reserved for Germany’s goalkeepers, which makes this kit feel like a departure from convention – something that may divide opinion among the purists.

So, what’s your take? Is this a masterstroke of simplicity or a step too far from tradition? Share your views below.
