Vastu Remedies for the Kitchen: Everyone desires peace and happiness in their home, good health for their family, and financial stability. People work hard and adopt various measures to achieve this, yet despite persistent efforts, financial constraints, stress, and minor troubles often persist. Vastu Shastra attributes this, in part, to negative energy within the home. The kitchen, in particular, is considered vital to the family's health and well-being; if items are misplaced or certain habits contradict Vastu principles, it can adversely affect the home's atmosphere and financial status.

However, making a few small changes can foster a positive environment. Let us explore the Vastu guidelines for the kitchen that can help maintain happiness, peace, and prosperity in the home. Astrologer Anshul Tripathi explains these points below:

1. Pay Special Attention to the Kitchen's Direction
In Vastu Shastra, the direction of the kitchen is considered crucial. It is widely believed that the south-east is the ideal location for the kitchen. This direction is associated with the fire element; a kitchen situated here promotes an optimal balance of energy and fosters harmony among family members.

2. Place the Stove or Gas Burner Correctly
The placement of the gas stove or cooking range within the kitchen is also significant. According to Vastu, positioning it in the south-east corner is considered auspicious. It is deemed even more beneficial if the person cooking faces the east. This practice is said to enhance positive energy and sustain happiness within the household.

3. Kitchen Colors Also Have an Impact
While many focus solely on design and trends when decorating their kitchen, Vastu emphasizes the importance of color. Yellow, light orange, or cream are considered excellent choices for the kitchen, as these colors symbolize energy and enthusiasm. It is also advised to avoid using too much black, as it is associated with negativity.

4. Where to store rations and heavy items
It is considered best to store household grains, lentils, and other heavy items in the southern or western part of the kitchen. This keeps the kitchen organized and maintains an energy balance. Ensure that heavy cupboards or storage units are not installed directly above the gas stove.

5. Do not hang pans and utensils on the wall
In many homes, pans, woks (kadhai), and other utensils are hung on walls to save space, but Vastu Shastra does not consider this auspicious. It is believed that this practice can diminish the home's positivity and lead to financial troubles. Therefore, it is better to store such utensils neatly in cupboards or racks.

6. Do not leave dirty dishes for too long
After cooking, people often leave dirty dishes in the sink for extended periods. According to Vastu, this habit can negatively impact the home's atmosphere. Leaving dirty dishes lying around for a long time is believed to disturb the peace of the household. Therefore, try to clean the dishes promptly.

7. Do not leave empty vessels on the gas stove
Leaving woks, pans, or other vessels on the gas stove for a long time after cooking is also considered unfavorable in Vastu. Additionally, one should avoid pouring water immediately into a hot vessel. It is believed that doing so can increase the influence of negative energy in the home. It is better to clean the vessel only after it has cooled down somewhat.

8. Kitchen cleanliness is the most important remedy
Cleanliness is considered the most crucial aspect among various Vastu principles; if the kitchen remains clean, organized, and well-ventilated, a positive atmosphere prevails. Therefore, clean the kitchen daily and do not allow useless or broken items to accumulate.
