
New Delhi: South Africa and Zimbabwe are face to face in Bulawayo. The first match of the two-match Test series is being played between the two teams. On the second day of this match Zimbabwes team has suffered a major setback. Strong all-rounder and team opener Brian Bennett has been ruled out of the first Test match. Brian Bennett will not be able to play further in the first Test due to a concussion (head injury). In such a situation Prince Masvaure has been included as a replacement in his place. What happened in the match? In fact South Africa declared their innings at a score of 418/9. After this Brian Bennett along with opening partner Takudzawanashe Kaitano came to the field to open Zimbabwes innings on the second day. Takudzawanashe could not even open his account and got out on a duck in the 5th over. Why did he suddenly leave the field? After the first wicket fell in the sixth over Bennett tried to pull a short ball from Kwena Mphaka but the ball hit the helmet after hitting the upper edge of the bat. Immediately after this the physio came on the field and enquired about Bennetts condition. Bennett looked a little uncomfortable after being hit by the ball but nothing worrying came out in the physios concussion test. After this he continued his batting. Only one over had passed when Bennett left the field and then it was known that now he will not be able to play for the remaining three days. When did he leave the team? Bennetts exit from the first Test on the second day is a big setback for Zimbabwe as the 21-year-old opener recently played a brilliant innings of 139 runs in the first Test on the England tour. He scored more than 50 three times in his last three Test matches including a century. Talking about Bennetts replacement Prince Masvaure he last played a Test in Belfast against Ireland in July 2024. In that match he scored a half-century in the first innings. Sean Williams smashes a century Talking about Zimbabwes first innings score 238 runs for 7 wickets have been put on the scoreboard in 60 overs. Sean Williams is unbeaten after scoring a century. Zimbabwes team is still 180 runs behind South Africa.
