
Kollegal: In connection with the recent death of five tigers in the Male Mahadeshwara Wildlife Division, three accused were produced before a magistrate after undergoing a medical examination at the Government General Hospital in the city on the night of Saturday, June 28.
The accused—Madhuraj, Nagaraj, and Konappa—residents of Kopp village in Minyam range, Hanur taluk, were presented before Chief Civil Judge Kavya Shree. The court ordered that the three be remanded to judicial custody for three days, until Monday.
The accused were brought before the court by a team led by DCF Chakrapani, ACF Gajanan Hegde, and Hugyam Range Forest Officer Madesh.
The tiger deaths, which shocked wildlife conservationists and the public alike, are under intense investigation by forest officials.
