Star India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant’s surgeon reflected on his recovery journey after his car accident in December 2022. He also revealed the first question asked by Rishabh Pant after the accident.
New Delhi: The story of the comeback of Team India’s star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant is quite filmy. In December 2022, he was seriously injured in a road accident. He was going from Delhi to his home in Roorkee by car. On the way, Pant’s car collided with a divider and caught fire. Within a short time, this car turned into a tin box.
Who helped Rishabh Pant?
However, in this early morning accident, two boys helped Pant and took him to the hospital. Later, Pant was shifted to a hospital in Mumbai. In this hospital, Pant had asked a question to the doctor, which has now been revealed. Pant first asked the doctor whether he would be able to play again or not. Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala has revealed this. Dr. Dinshaw had performed Pant’s surgery after the accident.
What did the doctor mention about Rishabh Pant’s injury?
Talking to the Daily Telegraph, the doctor said, “When your knee dislocates, and all the ligaments break, there’s a high possibility of the nerve or the main blood vessel also being injured. If the blood vessel gets injured, you typically have about four to six hours to restore the blood supply.
Pardiwala said, “Otherwise, there’s a risk of losing your limb. The fact that his blood vessel wasn’t injured despite having a severe high-velocity knee dislocation was extremely lucky,” said Pardiwala.
What was Rishabh Pant’s first question after the accident?
Pardiwala mentioned that the initial question Pant asked upon arriving at the hospital was, “Am I ever going to be able to play again?”
