Karan wanted to offer the female lead role to Kajol; however he was too hesitant to approach her because he thought that Kajol had just gotten married and she might turn down the offer. However his fear turned out to be exactly the opposite of Kajols reaction. When Karan narrated the story to Kajol she started crying and got deeply emotional. He once revealed in an interview “After hearing the story Kajol started crying and told me ‘I will do this film’” he shared. A star-studded Cast Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was a star-studded film that featured Kajol opposite Shah Rukh Khan with a legendary cast including Amitabh Bachchan Jaya Bachchan Kareena Kapoor Khan and Hrithik Roshan in important roles.
