DAY6 has managed to garner a lot of buzz in the past few years and has had its fair share of controversies and issues. The group’s leader, Jae, who now goes by the pen name eaJ Park , previously left the group citing ‘personal circumstances’. A recent social media activity from the idol, however, has sparked some debate online from netizens.
eaJ Park leaves cryptic comment on social media post
Recently, eaJ Park left a cryptic and lengthy comment on a social media post on a popular video streaming platform that left netizens shocked and sparked debates online. The video shared online talked about the scenarios of how the “least liked” person of a K-pop group survives and what ordeals they go through.
Park left a lengthy comment under the post, stating that he related to the scenarios and that he underwent that treatment in Korea as well. His comment read, “I was that person in Korea. It was painful to attend fan-related events. During our second comeback, the producers told me not to give speeches”.
“At every fan event, I somewhat felt like I didn’t belong there. It took some time to get used to it, but I eventually did. Of course, I received love from overseas, and even from a few Korean fans, and I will forever be grateful to those people. I still remember the short conversations we had over those years. So when you meet a group you like, show love to everyone,” the former DAY6 member continued in his comment.
His claims of being the ‘least popular’ member of the group and of being told to keep quiet during public events made netizens share mixed reactions about the issue.
Netizens react online to eaJ Park’s comment
Many netizens took to online fan forums to disagree with the former band member, stating that the disparities being talked about in the comment did not apply to DAY6’s dynamic. One such netizen commented that “DAY6 didn’t have severe popularity disparities, to the point where there was no unpopular member. Even if you had a bias, you’d be fans of everyone,” while another shared that “He’s at it again… If he just stayed still, he’d be lauded for his good vocal colour. Why is he like that?”
Jae left the group citing personal issues, along with ongoing controversies, as well as health issues. The idol left South Korea after leaving the group and shifted back to Los Angeles, California
