Abhishek Bachchan shared that he was literally shaking when he first acted alongside his iconic father Amitabh Bachchan in the movie Sarkar. He understood that his father would not hold back his opinions particularly regarding work. He learned this hard way when Big B openly criticized Abhisheks performance in Ram Gopal Varmas ‘Sarkar’ and later stated on national television that he was not impressed with Mani Ratnams Yuva. While the audience generally appreciated Abhisheks role in the film Amitabh felt deeply disappointed. Abhishek Bachchan’s Working Experience With Amitabh Bachchan In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India Abhishek was questioned about the compliments his father gives him on social media these days and he admitted that it makes him feel embarrassed. However Abhishek acknowledged that his father is now 83 years old and is showing his affection in ways he didnt when he was younger. It wasnt always this way Abhishek recalled events from 2004. He mentioned “It was the premiere of Yuva at the IIFA Awards in Singapore and I watched the film sensing that something special was occurring.” Abhishek noted that it was the first time he had found his own performance acceptable. After the screening he approached Shammi Kapoor to offer help getting up from his seat. Shammi Kapoor declined the help stood up on his own and praised Abhishek loudly. Abhishek Bachchan Recalled His Shoot Days From Sarkar The audience erupted in applause and Abhishek felt elated. Outside he noticed his mother in tears but his father simply said they would discuss it later. That conversation never took place until Bachchan revealed on Koffee with Karan that he didnt like Abhisheks performance in Yuva. Abhishek continued The first time we filmed together was for Sarkar. Ramu mentioned that we would do some test shoots and then I could leave to shoot ‘Bunty Aur Babli.’ This was in September 2004. On the first day I was panicking and sweating. He called me Shankar and all I had to do was turn around and answer Ji? I was terrified I was literally shaking. He has that effect.” Abhishek said that he ‘sprinted’ to his trailer after the shot was canned and waited for his father to depart because he didn’t want to leave together. But Amitabh dropped by and insisted that they go home in the same car. When Big B Yelled At Abhishek Bachchan The entire ride back was spent in silence.
