Guwahati, July 2: A woman's body was discovered under mysterious circumstances in a locked room in the Kharghuli area of Guwahati on Wednesday morning, raising alarms about potential foul play.
The victim has been identified as Bandana Das. Her remains were found around 7:30 AM in a residential building, prompting law enforcement to secure the area for further investigation.
A police official from Latasil confirmed to local media that this incident is being treated as a homicide. "The body was located today at approximately 7:30 AM, and it is officially classified as a murder. We are actively investigating the matter and will provide additional details soon," the official stated.
Authorities have taken the caretaker, Ratul Das, into custody for questioning regarding the incident.
