This film was released in theaters on 23 May. But it could not even recover its budget. According to the report Ace was made on a budget of Rs 20 crore and it earned only Rs 10 crore at the box office. It streamed on the OTT platform Prime Video a week ago. The Storyline Of Ace Ace stars Vijay Sethupathi along with actors like Yogi Babu Rukmini Vasanth and Kalpana Pillai. Vijay plays the role of Bolt Kannan in the film. Rukmini is opposite him and plays the role of a girl named Rukku. Bolt Kannans character remains in suspense till the end. He meets Yogi Babus character Arivu at an airport in Malaysia. Arivu gets Bolt a job in a restaurant. Bolt has a quarrel with a girl named Rukmani. Rukkus stepfather is a corrupt police officer. He blackmails a girl and sexually exploits her. The daughter wants crores of rupees to get her stepfather to vacate the house. When Bolt Kannan comes to know about this he plans to rob a bank. He borrows money from a goon. Then a lot of mess happens and he gets trapped. Then he makes a dangerous plan and kills the villain and Rukkus stepfather. The movie earned Rs 1 crore on its first day. On the second day the box office increased by 62%. The third day also saw growth in box office numbers. By the fourth day the total box office reached Rs 4.94 crore. Sethupathi acknowledged that the films launch was hurried and did not have enough promotion attributing these issues to its disappointing box office results.
