
The first glimpse of Nitesh Tiwari's magnum opus, Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, was unveiled by the makers on Thursday (July 3). The video revealed the first official looks of Ranbir as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana, leaving fans excited for the film. Ranbir's actress-wife Alia Bhatt too shared the video on her official Instagram account and was all praise for the much-awaited film. Along with the video, she wrote, "Some things don’t need words. This feels like the start of something unforgettable. Diwali 2026 — we’re waiting."Ravie's wife, actress and producer, Sargun Mehta also shared the video and penned an emotional note for the actor who is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the film. Sargun wrote, "2026 ki diwali ka intezaar meri zindagi ka sabse lamba intezaar hoga. My heart is so so full. Everytime I see the teaser, read the names on the poster, my heart swells with love and gratitude. Shukar shukar shukar. JAI SHRI RAM🙏 OM NAMAH SHIVAY."However, the makers did not reveal Ravie's look in the first glimpse. Netizens have been praising their looks and they have left no stones unturned to express their excitement. Ramayana also stars Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, among others. The looks and details of the actors have been kept under wraps. Ramayana has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, and it will be released in two parts. While the first part will hit the silver screens on Diwali 2026, the second part is slated to release in Diwali 2027.
