Liam Delap will miss the semi-final of the FIFA Club World Cup should Chelsea progress after picking up his second yellow card of the tournament against Palmeiras.
Right before the half-time whistle, Delap left one in on Richard Rios and the referee cautioned the Blues striker. As per FIFA rules, picking up two yellow cards before the semi-final stage of the competition results in a one-match ban. Fortunately for the Blues, they have Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu and new signing Joao Pedro as options in the No.9 role.
Chelsea are leading 1-0 at the half-time break through Cole Palmer's wonderful goal on 16 minutes. The Blues have largely controlled the game thus far but Palmeiras remain a threat on the break.

Enzo Maresca will also be sweating on the fitness of Reece James should Chelsea progress into the last four. The captain was due to start at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia but pulled out at the last minute with Andrey Santos deputising.
It looks to be an injury for James, who criticised the pitches he has played on in the Club World Cup on Thursday. Romeo Lavia, too, is a concern with the Belgian midfielder missing from the squad in Philadelphia after picking up a knock in Charlotte last time out.
If Chelsea are to progress to the next round, they will take on another Brazilian side in Fluminense, who beat Al-Hilal 2-1 on Friday.
