Pakistani films Love Guru and Deemak, released on Eid-ul-Adha, have continued to capture the attention of audiences, maintaining strong popularity despite the recent release of the Indian Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3.

Starring Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir, Sardaar Ji 3 hit cinemas on June 27 and began with a bang, earning an impressive Rs. 10.9 crore in Pakistan. In response, cinemas reduced the number of shows for local films to accommodate the new release. However, both Love Guru and Deemak managed to retain their audience base and box office momentum.

The romantic comedy Love teacherfeaturing Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan, has crossed Rs. 41.25 crore at the Pakistani box office in just four weeks. According to trade analyst Ali Zain, the film earned Rs. 21.5 crore in its first weekfollowed by Rs. 11.25 crore and Rs. 6.75 crore in the second and third weeks respectively. Even after the start of Muharram and the arrival of Sardaar ji 3, You are a teacher added another Rs. 1.75 crore in its fourth week.

On the other hand, horror film Deemakstarring Samina Peerzada, Sonia Hussyn, and Faisal Qureshi, has emerged as an unexpected box office success of 2025. By July 1, the film had grossed over Rs. 15.09 crore, signaling a positive shift for experimental cinema in Pakistan.

Deemak earned Rs. 5.51 crore in its first week, Rs. 5.08 crore in the second, and Rs. 3.55 crore in the third. In its fourth week, it added Rs. 64 lakh, followed by Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 12 lakh on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

Despite tough competition, both films have proven the strength and resilience of local cinema, showcasing diverse genres and winning over Pakistani audiences.
