The Pakistan cricket team is gearing up for its tour of Bangladesh, where they will play a three-match T20 series starting July 20.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board will host the series, and Pakistan has announced a 15-member squad under the leadership of Salman Ali Agha, who continues as captain.
Babar, Rizwan, and Shaheen Dropped
In a surprising decision, the selectors have omitted Pakistan’s three major stars—Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi—from the squad.
This marks a significant shift, as all three have been mainstays in the national setup. Their omission is believed to be due to their recent underwhelming performances in the T20 format.
The squad sees the return of explosive batter Fakhar Zaman and all-rounder Faheem Ashraf.
Fakhar last featured in a T20I in 2024, while Faheem has been out since the 2023 series against New Zealand. Their inclusion adds firepower and experience to the revamped squad.
