
PTC Web Desk: As the first half of 2025 draws to a close, IMDb India has revealed its list of the most popular Indian films released between January 1 and July 1, 2025. The rankings, based on IMDb user ratings and page views from over 250 million monthly global visitors, highlight the titles that captured the audience’s attention the most during this period.
According to IMDb's official note, the list only includes films with an average user rating of 6 or higher and at least 10,000 votes. These titles also ranked consistently high in terms of page traffic on the platform, reflecting strong audience engagement.

Chhaava leads IMDb popularity list
Laxman Utekar’s historical epic 'Chhaava' has been named the most popular Indian film of 2025 so far. Headlined by Vicky Kaushal, the film tells the story of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The Maddock Films production became a box office sensation, grossing Rs 809 crore on a budget of Rs 130 crore, marking a theatrical profit of over 500%.
Also starring Akshaye Khanna, Rashmika Mandanna, Divya Dutta, and Vineet Kumar Singh, 'Chhaava' is the highest-grossing Indian film of the year to date.
Director Laxman Utekar expressed gratitude, stating, “We are humbled to see 'Chhaava' top IMDb’s Most Popular Indian Movies of 2025 so far. This recognition is extra special because it comes straight from the audience. The love and appreciation from fans around the globe inspire us to keep telling stories that matter.”
The second spot went to 'Dragon', a Tamil-language surprise hit starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Gopika Ramesh, which earned critical acclaim and over ?150 crore at the box office.
Shahid Kapoor’s 'Deva', despite underperforming commercially, secured the third position due to sustained online interest.

Notably absent from the list was Salman Khan’s much-hyped film 'Sikandar', which failed to make the top 10.
