In India Elon musk The social media company X (former Twitter) of the social media company has made a big cut in the prices of all three premium subscriptions plan – Basic, Premium and Premium+ – up to 47%. This decision is being considered an important step towards increasing the reach of X in a huge digital market like India and strengthening the subscription revenue.

All three plans were cheap for the first time

This is the first time all the tier prices have been reduced since the Twitter Blue was launched in India in February 2023. The special thing is that the price of Premium+ Plan increased twice last year, but now all subscriptions have become cheap.

New prices on web platforms

  • Basic: ₹ 170/month or ₹ 1,700/year (first ₹ 244/month or ₹ 2,591/year)
  • Premium: ₹ 427/month or ₹ 4,272/year (first ₹ 650/month or ₹ 6,800/year)
  • Premium+: ₹ 2,570/month or ₹ 26,400/year (first ₹ 3,470/month or ₹ 34,340/year)

Still higher rates on mobile apps

X subscriptions on mobile apps remain expensive due to Apple and Google’s commission policy:

  • Premium: ₹ 470/month (first ₹ 900/month)
  • Premium+: ₹ 3,000/month (₹ 5,000/month on iOS)
  • Basic: ₹ 170/month on all platforms

What facilities are available in every plan?

  • Basic plan: Post editing, long video uploads, reply priority and limited post formatting
  • Premium plan: X pro tools, detailed analytics, low advertising, blue tick and increased limit of Grok AI
  • Premium+ Plan: Completely advertising experience, more reply boost, facility to post long articles, and live trends through ‘Radar’ tool

Prices cut with Grok 4 launch

This price deduction has come at a time when Elon Musk’s AI company XAI has launched its new model Grok 4. In March 2025, XAI acquired the X in a $ 33 billion stock deal. Although efforts are being made to increase revenue from subscription, the in-app of X from the mobile app by December 2024 has been only $ 16.5 million.

Meanwhile, X CEO Linda Yacarino has recently resigned after its two -year term. The company is now giving priority to subscription based models by reducing dependence on advertising.
