A meeting of the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) Coordination Committee was held at Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav's official residence on Polo Road regarding the upcoming assembly elections. The meeting was chaired by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. Leaders from all constituent parties of the RJD-led alliance—including the Congress, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), CPI(ML), CPI, and CPM—were present.

Five-Hour Long Coordination Committee Meeting

The coordination committee meeting, chaired by Tejashwi Yadav, lasted for five hours. After the meeting, VIP chief Mukesh Sahani said that strategies for election preparations were discussed. Seat-sharing was also a key topic, and alliance partners had submitted their respective seat demands before the meeting, he added and assured that the seat-sharing arrangement will be finalised soon.

Sahani also said that there was also an in-depth discussion on the voter list revision campaign. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that no voter's name gets removed from the electoral roll.

In the meeting, the concerns were raised that BLOs (Booth Level Officers) are not performing their duties properly, and the functioning of the Election Commission was also questioned. To address these issues, alliance parties plan to reach down to the booth level.

Entry of New Parties in Mahagathbandhan?

When asked about the potential entry of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and RLJP into the Mahagathbandhan, Sahani said that things will be sorted out in due time and discussions are ongoing.

Discussion on Common Manifesto

The alliance also deliberated on drafting a common manifesto. Talks were held on expanding the Mahagathbandhan, as all constituent parties are united by a common goal: removing the NDA from power. There are no disputes on any issue. The alliance is preparing for the elections in a unified and strong manner. There is also no confusion regarding the leadership face for the campaign.
