Rishabh Pant is out of action as he sustained a finger injury thus Dhruv Jurel took the role of the wicketkeeper again on Day 4 of the Lord s Test. He had previously created an impact with a fantastic catch to dismiss Ollie Pope in the first inning yet Day 4 marked a new test. His reflexes have been challenged against an unpredictable bounce of the pitch during the session and his day was worse off with his drop on a clear catch of the very first ball after lunch something which earned criticism by the fans on social media. Bad performance by Dhruv Jurel The injury of Rishabh Pant has seen India a bit shaken up as the stand-in Keeper Dhruv Jurel had a very tricky time keeping wickets on the Day 4. On his feet Jurel has at times not been able to pick up deliveries cleanly against Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj. He dropped a simple catch off Joe Root which was edged by Akash just after lunch. Luckily to India it was a no-ball declared by the umpire so the missed chance did not matter. But Indian viewers who watched Jurel making the drop in real-time were not very understanding and they tweeted to express their anger. The following are some of the criticisms on the performance of the young wicket keeper: Apart from one good catch on Jadejas bowling...Dhruv Jurel has been horrible behind the wickets...Horror show totally... unable to stop even a single down the leg ball — I know right (@I_m_riiit) July 13 2025 Dhruv Jurel Cant be backup keeper for Rishabh pant leave alone batting he is mile year behind Rishabh in wicket keeping skills as well he cant keep outside flat decks! — Pranchal Kapadiya (@PranchalKapadi4) July 13 2025 For all the shouts about being the best wicketkeeper for India after taking the catch of Ollie Pope Dhruv Jurel has been bang average (being lenient) to the pacers since then#INDvsENG — Viggy (@VigneshA_26) July 13 2025 Bro dropped 2 catches and gave away 20+ bye runs due to his pathetic wicket keeping please retire asap Dhruv Jurel 😭🙏 https://t.co/ZVuHypnQsD — ben dover (@r4gingbvll) July 13 2025 he second innings of England collapsed to 192 during the third session on Day 4 of Lord Pier Test.
