Desk: Ola Electric Mobility Limited is on the verge of closing 90 percent showrooms in Maharashtra (Maharashtra) of Ola Electric Mobility Limited, because Maharashtra is the state where most electric scooters are registered. Ola company has been one of the highest number of electric scooters selling in the Indian market. But later TVS and Bajaj slipped to third place after Auto, this electric two -wheeler manufacturer has 450 showrooms in Maharashtra, of which 90 percent of which are on the verge of closure of showrooms. With this, along with the sale of Ola Electric, there can be a stir in the country’s largest electric scooter market.

According to the report, the Maharashtra government has decided to close about 90 percent of the 450 showrooms of Ola Electric in the state, as these stores do not have trade certificates, which is a regulatory need to keep unregistered vehicles in the outlet and make sales easier. This is another major setback for the EV manufacturer because they are already struggling with the lack of service infrastructure and problems in registration.

The report claimed that on July 3, the Maharashtra Transport Department informed the State Transport Minister’s office that the regional officials have taken action against the stores which did not have the necessary trade certificate. According to the Maharashtra Transport Department, on examining all the showrooms by the local rapid investigation team, it was found that 44 of the 432 showrooms which were tested had trade certificates and 388 showrooms with no trade certificate have been closed. ” The report also quoted the EV company as saying that claims about stores in Maharashtra are fictional, wrong and unfair.

Maharashtra is known for registration of the most electric two -wheelers in India. In the last financial year, the state recorded sales of 2,12,000 electric two -wheelers, which was the highest for any state of the country in FY 2025. Ola Electric recorded sales of over 3,44,000 units in the last financial year and Maharashtra alone contributed 12 percent. In such a situation, this electric vehicle manufacturer will get a big shock due to its closure of 90 percent of its stores in the state. This is not the first time that Ola is surrounded by electric disputes. Earlier, several consumer complaints were revealed about the after -service service of the EV manufacturer.
