According to reports, the actress will be seen playing a ghost in a genre-defying film that not only promises a refreshing take on supernatural storytelling but also features her romancing a much younger male actor — nearly 20 years her junior.

Kareena to Play a Ghost in a Quirky New Role

A source quoted by Deccan Chronicle revealed, “This quirky story featuring Kareena as a ghost has a refreshing script and will carve out a new space in the ghost genre. It’s a fun, genre-bending take, and Kareena is perfect for it."

The film is reportedly written by Hussain Dalal, best known for his collaborations with filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, including Brahmastra Part 1. The project is said to cast Kareena opposite a male lead in his early 20s, although official confirmation is still awaited.

While Bollywood has long seen older male actors romancing much younger female co-stars, this reversal of the trend has generated significant buzz. Most recently, Ranveer Singh faced criticism on social media for being paired opposite 18-year-old Sara Arjun in Dhurandhar, while he was 38 during the film's shoot.

In addition to this ghost film, Kareena Kapoor Khan is also gearing up for Daayra, her next collaboration with director Meghna Gulzar. Known for acclaimed projects like Raazi and Talvar, Junglee Pictures reunites with the filmmaker for this crime-drama thriller.

The film, currently in pre-production, explores the complex realities of crime, punishment, and justice in today's world. Co-written by Yash and Sima along with Meghna Gulzar, Daayra will feature Kareena in a powerful role opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran. The project follows Meghna’s 2023 directorial Sam Bahadur and promises a gripping, socially resonant narrative.
