Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of Italy U19 international goalkeeper Renato Marin (19). The 19-year-old has dual citizenship and could later represent Brazil. Marin has signed a five-year contract upon the expiry of his AS Roma contract. The highly-rated goalkeeper prospect joined Roma’s academy in 2022 and has yet to make his professional debut. Instead, Marin has gained game time with the Giallorossi’s reserves.
Marin is now the fourth goalkeeper under professional contract at PSG, with undisputed No. 1 Gianluigi Donnarumma and understudies Matvey Safonov and Arnau Tenas. The arrival of Marin raises questions about the future of both the Russian and the Spaniard in the French capital. “I am very happy to be joining this great team, it’s a wonderful opportunity for me. It’s a dream come true. I will give my best for them and for the fans“, Marin said.
