US Open: Olympic champion Zheng Kinwen withdrew his name from US Open, decided due to elbow injury

US Open: Olympic gold medalist Zheng Kinwen has withdrawn his name from the last Grand Slam US Open of the year. Zheng is struggling with a knee injury due to which she will not be able to participate in this tennis tournament. The US Open will begin on 24 August.

The 22 -year -old Chinese player announced two days ago that he had to undergo arthoscopic surgery due to continuous pain in his right elbow. The world’s sixth ranked player Zheng lost in the first round in Wimbledon last month. Zheng said that she felt that it would take them months to recover, so it is certain that she would not be able to participate in the US Open starting on August 24. He has been replaced by Leolia Genzen of France in the main draw of the US Open.
