Epidemic effect on mental health

A recent study published in Nature magazine shows that the experience of Kovid-19 infection, whether the person has become infected or not, has rapidly old our brain. This is important because it shows that not only the virus, but also the stress, isolation and a sense of damage during the lockdown have negatively impact the health of the brain.

Research found that during the epidemic, the age of the brain increased by about 5.5 months rapidly. In particular, this effect was seen more in men, the elderly and those whose health was weak, the level of education was low and income was also limited. The study used serial neuro-emaging data from UK Biobank (UKBB). Dr. MV Padma Srivastava, head of Paras Health, Gurugram’s Neurology, said, “This study highlights the importance of monitoring brain health and adopting healthy lifestyle.”

Conclusion of study

It was clear in the study that during the Kovid-19 epidemic increased the speed of brain aging, even in those who had never been infected. This means that these changes were not only due to virus, but also due to stress, isolation and disruption in daily life. This indicates that our mental and emotional environment can deeply affect the health of the brain.

However, the study has not confirmed long -term brain health problems. Nevertheless, it outlines the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle to monitor brain health and maintain long -term cognitive health.

Remedies for brain health care

Although the study did not clarify whether these changes could be reversed, existing research suggests that maintaining a healthy lifestyle – including stress management, social contact, regular physical activity and mental busyness – may be beneficial for brain health.

For brain health care, stress management, physical activity, adequate sleep, balanced diet and mental activities are required. Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins can help improve brain health.
