Opposition Rally Against Special Intensive Review

On Monday, key figures from the India bloc, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, gathered outside Parliament to protest the controversial Special Intensive Review (SIR) of the voter list. The demonstration saw participation from all opposition parties, with leaders holding banners accusing the government of undermining democratic values, alongside placards reading 'Stop Sir'.


Concerns Over SIR Expansion

The protest also featured Assam Congress chief Gaurav Gogoi and CPI (ML) (Liberation) MP Raja Ram Singh Kushwaha, reflecting widespread apprehension regarding the alleged expansion of the SIR. Meanwhile, to showcase its strength during the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) summoned all coalition MPs from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to attend a meeting. The BJP had requested that all NDA members be present at the Parliament's Makar Dwar by 10:00 AM.


Discussion on Military Response to Pahalgam Attack

A special discussion regarding India's military response, termed 'Operation Sindoor', to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam is scheduled to take place in the Lok Sabha. A heated debate is anticipated between the ruling coalition and opposition leaders concerning the Pahalgam incident and Operation Sindoor. The agenda for Monday's Lok Sabha session includes a special discussion on India's robust, successful, and decisive 'Operation Sindoor' in response to the terrorist attack.
