The new UPI rules will be applicable from August 1, 2025. If you regularly use Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay or any other UPI platform, then it is very important for you to know what is going to change from next month. The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), which oversees UPI ecosystem, is going to implement some new boundaries to reduce the pressure on the system as well as to reduce problems such as delay and failed transactions. Due to this, boundaries will be imposed on things like checking balance and refreshing status.
Fixed limit to check balance
From next month, UPI users will be able to check their account balance only 50 times a day. Similarly, users will be able to see the bank account connected to their phone number on the UPI app only 25 times a day. These new boundaries are being determined to reduce non-essential traffic so that the system does not slow down in the busy time of the day and the transactions are not interrupted. Unnecessary loads on the network will be low, the system will also work faster and more securely.
Time slot for autope transaction also
Apart from this, NPCI is also starting a fixed time slot for UPI autope transaction. This means that pre-determined payments like auto payment, subscription, utility bill and EMI can be processed only in a certain time slot, not even in a day. Now autope transactions can be processed in only three fixed time slots – before 10 am, 1 pm to 5 pm and 9:30 pm. In addition, no changes have been made in the transaction range. It will remain the same as before.
