Lyon are monitoring Real Mallorca goalkeeper Dominik Greif (28) according to a report this Monday from RMC Sport. Gones are in the market for a No. 1 goalkeeper after they parted ways with Brazil international shot-stopper Lucas Perri. Perri joined promoted Premier League side Leeds United FC in a €16m deal last week. Lyon have also hired a lawyer to cancel the €8m deal they reached with Nottingham Forest to sign Matt Turner.
The outlet adds that Lyon plan to use part of the transfer fee they received from Leeds United to sign No. 1 goalkeeper. The Ligue 1 side’s attention is reportedly on Greif. The Slovakian international goalkeeper had an outstanding season with RCD Mallorca and played a pivotal role in their tenth-place finish in La Liga. After four seasons in Spain, Greif may be tempted by the prospect of showing his craft elsewhere. Furthermore, Greif has entered the final year of his contract, which could prove useful given Lyon’s dire financial situation.
