Cambodia recorded a 50.7% year-on-year increase in Chinese tourist arrivals in the first half of 2025, reaching 586,771 visitors, driven by targeted marketing campaigns and increased flights.

According to the Ministry of Tourism’s latest report, Chinese tourists accounted for 17.4% of the 3.36 million foreign visitors to Cambodia during the period.

China ranked as the third-largest source of tourists to the kingdom, following Thailand and Vietnam.

Thourn Sinan, chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association Cambodia chapter, said the surge reflected strong and growing interest from Chinese travelers.

“With the easing of travel restrictions and increased bilateral cooperation, I expect this trend to continue into the second half of the year,” he told Xinhua.

Sinan added that China’s expanding middle class, combined with proactive promotions and more flight options, is likely to further boost Chinese arrivals in the months ahead.
